GM Advance
GM Advance is an evolutionary advance on the physical and chemical properties of GMA-based soft lens materials. Its refined blend of purified monomers helps achieve high manufacturing yields, while its exceptional on-eye stability, water retention and durability guarantees patient satisfaction and low lens breakage levels.
- Lower modulus, higher tensile strength and higher elongation-to-break than other GMA based materials
- Unique material blends ensure superior lens surfaces and edges
- More dimensionally-stable than other GMA-based and soft lens materials
- Resists dehydration longer and rehydrates faster than comparable materials
- Dehydration comparable to Polymacon, and better than VP/PMMA-based materials
- Available in 49% and 58% water contents

Environment Control
For best manufacturing conditions Contamac recommends 19-23°C with a relative humidity of 45% - 60%
Polishing
The recommended polishing compound is Contapol 2 with a spindle speed of 3,500 rpm and weight of 240gms. With the above machining recommendations polishing should require a maximum of 30 seconds.
Hydration
Hydration of GM3 Advance materials is best performed in buffered saline with a PH of 6.8 – 7.3.
