Whether you are an ophthalmology/optometry student at university, a pupil at secondary school undertaking your GCSEs or A Levels or even someone who is conducting research for a school project, then we have some optical bitesize information that will be of use to you.

Students

The first student pack is aimed for primary school children and lower secondary school pupils. The pack contains information about contact lenses and a timeline of contact lens history, showing the major developments involved in producing the contact lenses we have today. In addition to this, the advantages and disadvantages of contact lenses and glasses are compared and the basic handling procedures of contact lenses are also included.

The second downloadable optical pack is aimed to provide basic research for students, including upper secondary school pupils who are interested in the science behind contact lenses and students at university who are studying optometry or ophthalmology. This also includes a timeline of the contact lens history and a section detailing the different types of speciality lenses available, such as toric and multifocal etc. There are also many useful optical industry links, including professional links, literature and resources that may be of use to students and a list of colleges that offer educational courses in optometry.

We have tried to be as accurate as possible with all the information we have provided, however you should always conduct your own research and always talk to an optician before for deciding on a contact lens or following a procedure or even if you think you have an eye problem.
