Contamac Announces Successful Global Specialty Lens Symposium
Over 400 optometrists and industry specialists attended the recent Global Specialty Lens Symposium in Las Vegas, Nevada USA held in late January 2010. Contamac, a key level sponsor of the conference, also presented a well attended breakout session on Specialty Lens Designs in Silicone Hydrogel, with internationally known speakers including Lynn White MSc FCOptom, Eef van der Worp BOptom PhD, Tim Koch FCLSA and Jose M. Gonzalez-Meijome OD PhD. Contamac’s Definitive Silicone Hydrogel material was featured in this presentation of several different specialty clinical studies and case histories, conducted with patients in the UK, Portugal, The Netherlands and other global markets.
The growing application of custom silicone hydrogel lenses is viewed as an important global product for patients who need and desire the benefits of a SiHy which has until recently, not been available. Over 300,000 lenses have been successfully produced and fit in Contamac’s Definitive material to date.
