Contamac Launch Optimum HR and Opteq Series 2

The EFCLIN Exhibition and Conference held at the Thistle Hotel, Glasgow from 9-11 October 2008, was the European launch platform for “Optimum HR”, a new High Refractive Index GP material that represents Contamac’s latest addition to the Optimum GP material range and the “Opteq 2”, which utilises the very latest in CNC lathe technology.

At the company presentations, Tim Koch, Contamac’s VP of Global Professional Services, introduced Optimum HR to the industry. The packed audience listened to how this material could serve as the complete solution to Presbyopia. After the presentation guests were offered an information pack that included a brochure on the defining benefits of Optimum HR.

Further building on the success of DefinitiveTM, Tim Koch took the opportunity to present information on the silicone hydrogel material, demonstrating why it has become the talked about material within the Contact Lens industry. Case Studies from various lens manufacturers were released and the team from Contamac were overwhelmed with requests for further discussions and positive feedback from established users.

Contamac's ongoing innovation in contact and intra-ocular lens manufacturing, was further reinforced by Ken Payne (Managing Director, Contamac BV), with a presentation on the new developments from our machine division in Holland, which fully address the issues of maximising profitability in lens manufacturing.

Ken announced the very latest CNC lathe technology with the launch of the Opteq 2. Using the same core technology as the successful Opteq 100 series lathes, this is a state-of-the-art CNC lathe that makes no compromise on quality and performance, but is very competitively priced!

The ability to operate your machinery day and NIGHT can now be realised, using the versatile Auto-Loader, handling up to 500 parts. The loader can be installed either on your Opteq lathe or free-standing with your other current CNC lathes.

Ken demonstrated even more flexibility for the lens IP conscious lab that simply wants to make the most of current and new lens product designs quickly and easily, by showing the industry the brand new 'Code Generator' application that paves the way for multiple third party software interfaces with the Opteq lathe series.
