Precision Machinery

Two Axis Sub-Micron CNC-Controlled Contouring Lathe With All Air Bearings:

  • For cutting high quality lens products, including spherical, aspheric, toric and multi-focal geometries
  • 6 tool positions. Typically, one position is reserved for optical tool position sensor. Fast-tool servo system available for non-axisymetric geometries
  • Spindle speed range of 0 to 10,000 rpm
  • Absolute shape accuracy - greater than 0.2 micro meter P-V and 20 nano meter RMS. Precise blocks are clamped pneumatically in turning spindle
  • X-slide traverse of 190 mm and a rapid feed of 2 m/min.
  • Z-slide traverse of 45mm
  • Production of high quality mould-inserts in brass, copper, aluminium and nickel
  • Only requires floor space of 90 x 90 cm
  • Adjustable working height
  • 10/100 Mb/sec LAN connection for program loading
  • Integrated production of contact lenses, with lens calculation software and blocking station
  • Easy access to serviceable parts by one touch drawer

The Calculens Software:

  • Windows style, easy to use, touch screen, intuitive lens design software
  • Calculation of many standard lens geometries, including multi-curve, aspheric, toric, multi-focal, prismatic, toric-edged and prismatic edges
  • Unlimited number of lens types, lenses and materials. All data is stored in a database
  • Technology is connected to lens materials
  • Design file to machine code, automatically
  • Order entry and code generation, via barcoding
  • Calculens is connected via 100 Mbit Ethernet.
  • Calculens offers complete flexibility and scalability for lens designers

Blocking:

  • Uses special OPTEQ clamping system for maximum accuracy
  • Concentricity and lens thicknesses to within 1 micron
  • Adjustable timers for cooling, clamping, etc
  • Radial eccentricity to less than 2 microns
  • Angular reproducibility to better than 1 degree
  • Compact and easy-to-use desk top station
