DAC International Acquires Opteq R & D

I am delighted to confirm that an agreement has been reached between DAC International Inc , Mr Henk Kiela of Opteq R&D and Contamac Ltd for the transfer of the Opteq machine technology and the manufacture of the Diatop lathing system to DAC International Inc.

For the immediate future, machine manufacture will continue at the Contamac BV facility in The Netherlands. It is intended that DAC International Inc will continue manufacture of the Diatop machines at their plant in Carpinteria California. Technical support for the machine platform will be provided both from Carpinteria and the DAC European Service Offices.

Jim Drain and I agree that this arrangement meets the long term goals of both Contamac Ltd and DAC International Inc respectively. Contamac Ltd will continue their dedication to the development of superior materials for Contact and Intra Ocular Lens use and DAC International’s desire to add a high-end polish free Contact and Intra Ocular Lens production system to their substantial product line.

It gives me great satisfaction that the Opteq technology will be developed further by DAC International Inc and remain available to the specialist lens industries continuing to provide that which many acknowledge to be the finest technology available for the production of lenses with polish free surfaces. Whilst I regret the passing of Contamac BV I am delighted that DAC International Inc has seized this fantastic opportunity to capitalize upon the possibilities that it offers.
